A Survey on Compression Domain Image and Video Data Processing and Analysis Techniques

A tremendous amount of image and video data are being generated shared in our daily lives. Image typically stored transmitted compressed form order to reduce storage space transmission time. The processing analysis can greatly input size eliminate the need for decompression recompression, thereby achieving significant savings memory computation There exists a body research on compression domain analysis. This survey focuses work related data. papers cited categorized based their target applications, including resizing retrieval, information hiding watermark embedding, enhancement segmentation, object motion detection, as well pattern classification, among several other applications. Key methods used these applications explained discussed. Comparisons drawn similar approaches. We then point out possible directions further research.
